An ambition fulfilled!

For many years my father used to make an annual trip with his chums to this restaurant near Calais.

I had always wondered why they made the effort, until today! It was my first visit and surprisingly emotional.

The restaurant, at the end of a single track road, clings to the rocks overlooking a quiet cove with views back to the White Cliffs of Dover.

We enjoyed the set menu with perfect understated service and wonderful seafood, accompanied by delightful wines at a table right by the window. The perfect spot for a leisurely lunch.

A selfie on the beach sums up the day.

I'm not going to tell anyone the exact location for fear of it being overwhelmed by Brits!

We then drove to a small hotel on the West side of Paris, ready for our big day out at Longchamps.
