Attended the fabulous launch of The Annie Dow Heroism Award today - TADHA for short!
It has been established to recognise and celebrate acts of courage and bravery by young people with additional support needs in Scotland. It is the name of the amazing Annie - who I had the huge honour of meeting today - who saved her family from their home after it caught fire. The story of the night was really terrifying, yet she was so calm and brave - amazing!
This is the TADHA Trophy - designed by Annie herself and made from bits of metal picked from the remains of their home by her after the fire. The base is a bit of charred floorboard from the house!
I have the real privilege of being a member of the judging panel for the Award, and am so looking forward to hearing stories of incredible young people in our communities.
All the info is here on the website, including a nomination form. Please do take a look and spread the word! Thank you x
