Pomarine Skua

An awful shot but my first pom! I went to Deerness for migrant birds but the rain was heavy nearly all day so everything was hiding. I got a few birds- a yellow-browed warbler, chiffchaffs, blackcap, mistle thrush, wheatear. On Mull Head there was a large, wet bird mooching about on the ground. It was a skua and I wondered if it might be a Pomarine . It looked like a juvenile bonxie but had a very pale base to the bill. Someone saw a juvenile pom a couple of miles away a couple of days ago. The photos were not helped by a very steamed up lens but all my lens cloths were wet. Still, record shots are very useful.
