Blending In

This spider is a Eriophora pustulosa, and it lives on the trunk of the maple tree in our yard. It measures about 1.5cm long.
They seem to be able to change colour, to blend with the their environment. They're usually dormant during the day, and come out at night to hunt.

There's another spider, the same as this one, that lives next to the clothesline, and I always say hello to it when I hang out the washing.
