A monkey's wedding

Today many monkeys got married. In South Africa a sun shower is known as a monkey's wedding, which comes from the translation of the Zulu umshado wezinkawu, 'a wedding for monkeys'. A few times today we had sunshine and simultaneous showers, which reminded me of this expression. As a little girl we often had monkeys in our garden, so I almost believed this was true and not just folklore.

This was taken during that period of the day when we only had beautiful sunshine, and no rain - I loved all the colours of the berries and the blue sky.

The weekend is upon us...it seems I will be watching rugby in the rain again tomorrow.
