Printer's Box

This is an old printer's box we have hanging in our living room. Boxes such as this were originally part of a large chest of drawers used by typesetters back in the day to organize individual letters for a printing press. A family tradition is to collect small mementos from trips, vacations, and significant events and display them in a printer's box in our house. This box hangs in our living room and contains items ranging from my grandfather's childhood belt buckle, a piece from a Yankee Stadium seat broken off during a 1995 playoff game, the key to our first house together, and a piece of fossilized dinosaur bone discovered by my daughter on the Isle of Wight in 2012. The latest addition is a "Monster in a Wee Box" Nessie and an Isle of Lewis chess piece, both souvenirs from a great trip to Lewis this past weekend.
