Delight in the Details

Fashioned for Happiness

This is the librarian at the college where I work at. She was wearing a necklace today that caught my eye during a meeting. When I got up to take a closer look at her jewelery, she was generous to explain that it was created by an artist in Bandon.

You can't see it very clearly here, but it is a jester/clown image with a bright array of colors including purple and magenta. It is made from metal, beads and wire; all completely three dimensional with bendable arms and legs. When you look at it, it is difficult not to smile.

She said the piece is called a "Happy Person". I have decided I need one. For the days I don't feel so happy, I can wear "someone" who is.
