Visited the open studios at Vernon Mill today. A great space that houses artists on its two uppermost floors.

There was quite a range of work on display, some awful, some really good.

The artist that had painted these was firmly placed among the best. We had a chat and I remarked that I liked particularly liked her abstract pieces. She said they were her favourites too, but that people preferred to know what it was they were looking at, so she felt she had to do some that were more realistic.

That's market forces for you!
