Lake Lillinonah Landscape

Just a couple of miles down the road from our house is Lake Lillinonah, which is the second largest lake in Connecticut. It's a beautiful spot, especially at this time of year when the trees are flaunting their Fall finery, and admiring their reflections in the still waters.

In other news, we got home at midnight last night after babysitting our grandson Elliott. At five o'clock in the morning, we were roused out of a sound sleep by the local police, who wanted to know if we were missing a horse ... sure enough, after stumbling bleary-eyed down to the barn in the dark and rain, there was no horse to be found. (Our friends keep their horse here) A section of fencing had fallen down, and the horse decided to go on a nocturnal adventure out on the road! Thank heavens someone noticed him, managed to catch him, and notified the police, and that no one was hurt! Mr. W pronounced the whole situation a "Night Mare" (See what he did there?!)
