White Bridge

This closed river crossing over the Avon at Chatelherault Country Park is sadly neglected, nature is beginning to take back possession and a fallen tree crushes the fragile spars of the walkway.

The stout stone piers that support the bridge have amassed fallen timbers at their base creating a dam of considerable proportions. One winter storm and the whole structure could disappear into the torrent.

All this could be remedied by one man and a chain saw!

Surely the cost benefit analysis is overwhelming..... But will it happen?
