Water and paper!

This waterwheel is instrumental in the production of paper at the Koni Ghil Paper Centre. It is a craft that has been in operation since the 11th century. The wheel pumps the water along a channel, where the force of the water lift levers up and down, which presses the bark of the mulberry tree into a pulp. Next the pulp is put into frames, pressed and then smoothed. The paper eventually is finished and feels like silk but is apparently very strong. It is fascinating to watch the process.

The blip for the day is water, I really like the way the water droplets come off the paddles......
