All in

John, our eldest, had a commission recently to design the cover of a book about a poker player down on his luck. He did the design graphically but had I had my poker set with me I would have set up a few shots like this to work on. Unfortunately it was down at Rob's and the work was done before I got it back.

Wanting a blip, I thought I'd try something anyway. I might have played around with the lighting, angles, possibly shoved in a bit of smoke if I'd have given myself more time, but I have to write a column tonight so this is it. I quite like the story-telling in the image. I can imagine that sinking feeling.
