Nuthatch

Mum and Dad (in their 80s) were watching tennis yet again this morning so despite wanting to sit quietly and doze in the chair I went out to avoid the endless discussions about the score and who was winning.

Glad I did as I wouldn't have seen this Nuthatch working the nooks and crannies of one of the large Beech trees in the park. I see Nuthatch regularly in this wooded area of the park but its never sat still, low enough in the tree and in enough light before, for me to attempt a shot. Its a pity his head isn't at a better angle to show his beak and black face stripe, but its the best of those I took.
