To Everything there is a Season

... and the golden, sandy beach at High Kildonan is now festooned with seaweed; the pinks, purples and yellows of the spring and summer wildflowers which are a hallmark of this area have been replaced by browns and russets. The summer sun, of which we had so much this year, gives place to the watery but magical light which belongs so typically to Autumn.

Pladda lies to the right, Ailsa Craig ahead, the mainland towards Stranraer in the distance and Ireland in the brightness of the horizon .
