Life through the lens...

Decaying.

This was the before
And just look at them now!
Summer is truly over when the hostas look like this!

Another wet and windy day.
Haven't been out except into the garden to take this photo.
House work, and bottling pickled red cabbage. Have done 2 jars of onoins too, and some more still to peel ( a job I hate, but love pickled onions!)

All went well last night, at the A.G.M., and nobody had any questions about my treasurer's report. (thank goodness!)
The wine tasting afterwards, of Austrian wines, was so great..
It was a pleasure to listen to Richard, who is interesting, knowledgeable, witty, and could pronounce the unpronounceable names of producers, and grape varieties perfectly!

Austrian wines aren't ones you come across in supermarkets.
For one thing they are quite expensive, and are from small producers.
Also the grape varieties are not your usual chardonnay, or Cabernet Sauvignon ,
but ones like Veltliner (white) or Blaufrankisch (red).
The Austrian classification is also complicated.
However, it was nice to taste different wines, and we liked them all.
My favourite being a sweet white made from the Muskat Ottonell grape,
Lovely to drink on it's own as an aperitif, as it wasn't too sweet ( classed as an "Auslese") The alcohol content only 8.5%.
It was gorgeous!
