The Emperor's New Clothes

It has been a busy day at Mackintosh Queen's Cross. In the morning we had a Film Company shooting a scene for a new short movie.

In the afternoon we had a special puppet show as part of the Creative Mackintosh Festival. In association with our friends at the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre, the Banyan Theatre Company of Ireland told the tale of the Emperor's New Clothes! Two scurrilous swindlers pretending to be master tailors, fashion the Emperor a set of new clothes, the like of which had never, ever…. been seen before! This charming and humorous adaptation was told through the use of puppetry, live music and storytelling. The children really got involved in this fabulous show. This is Karen Torley with the swindling tailors.

Later this week we have the return of our friends at the Yarn Cake. Next Thursday we have a special piano recital with Feargus Hetherington on Violin & Gavin Brady on Piano. To finish our Creative Mackintosh Programme, we are pleased to present Bel Canto, the Edinburgh-based, 12-voice a cappella group on Sunday 26 October.
