Hamnavoe Sailing

I went over to Graemsay for the day. I enjoy the boat trip as much as the walk. There isn't that much to see on the island and it is pretty small, but I hoped I might find some migrant birds. Not much luck there though it was nice to see eleven redwings burst from a single bush and a wheatear which flew along the road and passed quite close looked like the Greenland variant- a bit bigger and longer-winged (the latter being to cope with the longer sea journey). Here are a few more shots from the day.
Looking at this scene again it reminds me of Edward Hopper's paintings of sailing boats on the New England coast.
