A Slightly Better Day

After his ordeal having a litre and a half of fluid drained from his lung in hospital yesterday, Dad's breathing has improved today and he is a little more like his normal self, though he remains in some pain and discomfort, and is still far from well. His appetite has increased a bit, and he is also considering perhaps driving the mile to the local carvery on Sunday for him and Mum to have their usual roast lunch, if he feels up to it on the day. If not, they will get a taxi.

I visited the Tiptree ducks this afternoon, as I often do when I need a walk and a bit of solace and solitude. Dear and gentle creatures.

We see the specialist doctor at the chest clinic again tomorrow for another chat about the diagnosis and pain management. It's also my birthday. Not very much to celebrate this year, sadly.
