HMS Caroline, a light cruiseR built in Harland & Wolf, Belfast in one year and the last ship remaining anywhere in the world that took part in the Battle of Jutland.
With the aid of a £12,000,000 Lottery Grant she is to be restored to her original condition with all the horrendous appendages that the Ulster Division RNR has 'stuck on' over the years. It will all be completed in time for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Jutland in 2016.
My interest - I served onboard her in the early '80's and look forward to my invitation to the anniversary dinner.
