High Spy

We were going to Castlerigg this morning but at 6:30 there was 10/10 cloud and drizzling so we (That is Dave and I) gave it a miss and had another hour in bed.

At 9:45 we caught the launch to Hawes End and then walked up to Cat Bells where we stopped and had a snack.

An hour later we were approaching High Spy where we saw an outcrop overlooking a valley in the Derwent Fells where this shot was taken.

I had the wrong lens on for this but the days previously we had had F15s flying up the valley and I was waiting for them again.

We eventually descended to the Honister Slate Mine where we only just caught the bus back to Keswick. The next one was an hour later.
