Looking Forward...

"Scones"

I've definitely been watching too much Bake Off recently. All week I have been craving scones! Before watching the last couple of master classes tonight I decided to whip up a batch of them myself. Baking involves very similar skills to what I do in the lab - weighing, stirring, heating - except I'm able to eat the chemical compound I've made afterwards!

Unfortunately self-raising flour doesn't seem to exist in Swiss supermarkets and my plain flour plus baking powder swap didn't quite work. They still tasted like scones though, even if they didn't look quite right.

A scone with jam, a cup of tea and back to back Bake Off episodes equals a delightful evening.
