Scottish Event Awards Dinner

This evening a trip to Glasgow to attend the Scottish Event Awards Dinner on behalf of Crail Food Festival, with my colleague and Event Manager, Graham Anderson. The Crail Food Festival was nominated for a Community Event Award. We did not win, that category was won by Stand Up for The Clutha, a comedy event to raise funds for the emergency services who had done so much when a helicopter crashed into the roof of the Clutha Bar on the eve of last St Andrew's Day. The photo is of the announcement of the award for the Best In-House Event, which was won by Edinburgh Zoo. The connection with Crail... and there is one... is that before deciding to use Sand in Your Eye sand sculptors, the organisers from Edinburgh Zoo contacted Graham to ask him what to expect from commissioning a sand sculpture. He was able to tell them all about it as he's had 21 tons of sand dumped in front of the Honeypot Cafe more than once!
