Verfmolen de Kat

I have left the title in Dutch because I did not really like the translation for "Verfmolen Cat" (Paint mill the Cat).

History (source: www.verfmolendecat.com)
Mill 'de Kat' is originally built in 1781 octagonal smock with shelf, since the partial rebuilding in 1960 it is a Color mill.

The significance of the landscape between the mills 'The Finder' and 'Poelenburg', near the Zaanse Schans and mill located on the Zaan is great.

Around 1646 was the site of a paint mill set, which on 11 January 1646 wind letter was given to Adriaen Gerritsz. van Someren. This mill was converted into a mill later, possibly in or shortly before 1689, because on July 13 of that year he was included in an insurance contract as such. On November 27, 1782 he was completely destroyed by fire but and was rebuilt.

In 1904 the property of the Honig family since 1772 the mill was sold to the firm of Fish Pz., who had demolished it to the height and the shed in use increased as storage and dry chalk. In 1960 it was placed top eight side of the mill originating elsewhere in Zaandam Duinjager ( "The Sea Hunter" ?) in this basement and shed.

"The Sea Hunter 'has been built around 1696, in the Oostzijderveld for the wind to make a letter dated August 1, 1696 and issued to Adam Jansz. Duyn, which seems to be the naming explained. The snuff mill built mill was soon also a color mill. On June 17, 1781, he was lost by fire, but was rebuilt.
Around 1900 the mill was used for grinding chalk and later for grinding lumps of coal.
