Old Fuel Station

I went to Wetherby this morning for a few bits and pieces and popped up to this old fuel station.

It was located on the old southbound A1 - just north of Wetherby at Kirk Deighton. It closed around 2002 and the roof has been destroyed by fire at some point.

Next door to this there used to be a very gaudy public house, The Alpine Inn, a Bavarian chalet style building with lots of coloured lights outside.

The pub closed in the 1980s and in 2006 a major cannabis factory was discovered inside! It was burnt down in 2007.

Spent most of the rest of the day steam cleaning the kitchen and resealing the worktops to the tiles.

Uneventful dog walk this evening - Katie seems to have no problems with her leg after yesterday's lameness.
