Just in case you were not aware, it turns out that Edinburgh has the most blue eyed people in the UK, 57% of residents have blue eyes compared to the national average of 48%.

According to an article in today's Edinburgh Evening News, the best looking and best evolved of all people in Britain live in Edinburgh and the South East of Scotland.

Scientists believe that this new colour first appeared in a single individual who probably lived on the shores of the Baltic sea and its spectrum there 10,000 years ago.
