Lawyer's Wig Part 2.

Nature is resilient.

The plan was to show yesterday's Shaggy Ink Cap again today to demonstrate how it's lower part had opened away from the stem to look like a skirt or a wig. I had reckoned without Hurricane Gonzalo. On the right of today's Blip you can see the forlorn stalk which was all that was left of yesterday's Wig once the wind had had its way.

But nature is not to be outdone. To compensate for the loss of the first attempt it has now sent up two more. Watch for more news tomorrow or Thursday to see if these brave replacements can reach maturity.

We were lucky today in that because of an important event we had little choice but to drive down the M6 to South Manchester. The forecast wild weather was nowhere near as bad as was implied by the five different weather apps on my iPad where gusts of up to 100kph were promised. Gonzalo either chose to go elsewhere orcas running out of puff.
