Lunchtime reflections

Full day today with a couple of art workshops running. My lunch break on a Wednesday is generally in the car park of the care home that hosts the recently established afternoon session. My students in this case are long term, mature residents with mental health and addiction problems and post detox rehab sessions. There are 10 permanent residents, of which 2 are regulars in my group. This is apparently a statistical high for the home. I said I saw this as a challenge. I'm happy to say a third student joined us today, for his first ever art session at the home. He painted two pieces of paper red, professed that he felt much better for it and left. This is classed as a major success.
