Megalithic temples

We took a private hire tour around the island of Malta today - visiting a number of sites that we wanted to see. This site at Mnajdra was the highlight - a series of stone temples, dating from at least 6000 years ago. They are wonderful workmanship, and fascinating history. A number of the horseshoe-shaped rooms have well-defined astronomical alignments, and the monuments are very well interpreted. Huge limestone blocks and intricate dry-stone construction - marvellous!
