Me, My Camera & I

Off in to town today. Really to get out the house one last time before the drudge back to work tomorrow.

We took advantage of the passes once more and off and headed to Camera Obscura. Pretty busy, but not heaving with tourists. We saw all 5 levels of the building, but didn't wait around for our timeslot to see the last part. We'd have had to entertain ourselves for a further 75 minutes for that pleasure. Instead we headed down t'Mile to see what other things tourists can purchase in our fine city.

There were some nice things that S found in Ness, but she managed to put them back (this time). The food emporiums were chock full of nice items including some excellent highland shortbread. The sample was enough for me, otherwise I'd have devoured a packet.
I also witnessed a tourist mistakenly trying to apply a tea cosy to their head, rather than a teapot. Entertaining to see.

For some nourishment we hit Holyrood 9A for a burger. Being associated and owned by the people that have Red Squirrel and The Southern we thought the swift eating and heading we've had at these other establishments would be the same. Oh no. A full 45 minutes wait ensued for our food. We joked that we thought they were making the haloumi from scratch for S's burger, but it wasn't the case. Just the kitchen was backed up
Food came, it was OK, we paid and left.
Our last stop was to Filament Coffee on Victoria Street. We tried their coffee back in August. Star spotted Jason Byrne there at the time. Coffee was excellent.
However, back now in late October and they are gone. Scarpered, Vanished. Only a scrawl on their window to say they are moving to new premises, though this new premises wasn't divulged. Coffee denied for today :-(
