Summer grass in flower

I've taken to going for a walk after work, in the late summer afternoons. With the recent rain we had here a lot of the wild grass is not only in exuberant growth but flowering. I have no idea what this grass is but the wispy seed heads at the top of the stalks just caught the evening sun and glowed in the light.
