Shaggy Parasol

A morning in Hatfield Forest (NT). This ancient forest is a must when we are down with grandchildren in Bishop's Stortford. I recommend it to anyone interested in Natural History. There are many magnificent old trees.

With the help of the grandchildren we searched for fungi. I fear many of the ground fungi were over. But we found what I believe were Shaggy Parasols. Subject to any experts out there. On the left hand one you can see a ring which falls down the stem.

Back in 2004 the Shaggy Parasol was divided off from the Parasol.
