Between fen and mountains

I saw Nice in an altogether better light today. It helped using public transport. The bus service is cheap and efficient and the trams in the centre are well suited to the wide boulevards. In the modern part of the city there are expansive gardens with lots of different water features, timed fountains and artificial mists which are cool and refreshing on a hot day. Mrs TT wanted to window shop the exclusive brands. I decided to climb Castle hill to get the expansive views of the city. We reunited for a stroll around the quartier des antiquaires where I found some fine clocks in the flea market. We had lunch in the Cathedral square, wandered around the old town and then had half an hour on the beach. The sun is getting lower in the sky but that makes the Provençale light more interesting and the temperature is still in the twenties. Altogether a very good day.

There are some more photos here.
