The Life Of Ponty Cyclops

Sherborne Abbey

It's that time of year again!

The 2014 Perkin Elmer bowls trip has arrived at its destination. We haven't gone far this year. We are just South of Yeovil in a place called Sherborne.

We had the usual quiz and festivities on the way down. Me and Dawn narrowly missed out on the quiz. We were at the hotel in no time at all.

The hotel seems rather nice. We have a massive room compared to the usual pokey but quaint sea side hotel rooms we have.

Mum and dad had visited the hotel to check stuff out back in the summer. They have a petanque piste there, so when a gang of people turned up to play, it seemed rude not to have a cross border Anglo/ welsh competition. We drew, naturally.

This was better than we did in the bowls. We lost all six rinks in the evening.

Once upon a time 11pm was the start of festivities, 26 tours later 11 o clock is the polite time to say goodnight.

This photo was taken just down the road from the hotel. Me and Dawn went exploring after the petanque.
