Anniversary celebration

Mr M and I celebrated our wedding anniversary today by touring the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. This photo is of one of the demonstrations we watched. This young man made a little penguin figurine right in front of our eyes in about 15 minutes. There are glass items in the museum from many countries around the world, lots of information about how things are made and how they have progressed over the years, and then the entire first floor is the gift shop. We picked up a few things there, then went for a nice dinner. Finished up the day with grocery shopping.

The weather was on our side, not too cool and mostly sunny. Tomorrow Mr M has 4 friends coming to help turn our heavy wood stove on its back, then later in the week a local welder is going to come and repair a hole in the back of it. Hopefully all goes well because it is supposed to get much colder by the weekend. Crossing my fingers!
