Miranda's Meanders

A Last Dash

Determined to catch the perfect Istanbul skyline, and quietly regretting being too stingy to pay for the city's best views from Galata Tower, we decided the only thing for it with the time we had left would be to take the public ferry at dawn.

East Istanbul lacks the mosques and historic landmarks that make the western silhouette so picturesque, but the mist rolling across the water and the flocking cormorants leant an atmosphere to the docks that was worth the sleep deprivation. We'll just have to come back for sunset another time!
