Sunset over Ben Lomond

After the storms of the past few days we had a tranquil evening sunset with views towards Ben Lomond.

But it’s been a sad day though. We found the cat intruder, having set the cat flap for entry only. It turned out to be a scruffy black longhaired cat gone feral which hissed and growled. But it had big green eyes and once it must have been beautiful.
Cat Rescue did not want to know once I mentioned that I thought it was feral.
Perhaps it belonged to a neighbouring farmer in which case it would be a simple matter of returning it. No such luck. A tour of neighbours proved a blank too though one reported that a black cat had attacked the postman who tried to stroke it and he ended up injured and needing a tetanus injection.
So we took it to the vet to see if it had been micro chipped but it attacked the vet so we were dispatched to the vet hospital where they said they would have to anaesthesise it and would we be prepared to pick up the bill?

By now we realised that the cat intruder was turning into a major problem. We thought it would have been a simple matter of taking it along to the local Cat Rescue where we got Taz.
To compound the problem it seemed to be in pain because one half of its face seemed to be swollen.

So we left it in the vet hospital and rang an hour later.
“Bad news” said the vet” Its an elderly cat with a serious bone infection and abscess. He is in a lot of pain. It would be kinder to have him put down.”
And that was it.

Suddenly I felt very sorry for our cat intruder. He only came in last night for some food.
