McLaren

Gloomy day, overcast all the time so no views. Thought I'd take the opportunity to show you the Bruce McLaren memorial stone at Goodwood, mentioned a couple of days ago. The Goodwood Circuit is on our way to Chichester, love popping in there just for the atmosphere.

As well as being an innovative designer and engineer, McLaren was a hugely successful racing driver, starting up the McLaren formula one team which is still winning today. He died aged 32 when testing his new M8D. The rear bodywork came adrift at speed on the Lavant Straight at Goodwood, his car left the track and crashed into a bunker.
