Papavero

Last night, we went to Papavero, an Italian/Scottish restaurant we hadn't visited before. It's a pleasant, modern restaurant situated in the New Town.

My starter, as is often the case with Italian food, was this bruschetta. I have to say it's the best I've ever tasted.

For a main, I had pizza con funghi with extra mozzarella and olives. The base was pretty much perfect, but the topping seemed to lack something in taste. Herbs, maybe? Or perhaps I should've added some pepperoni to spice things up a little? I'm really not sure. It was just a wee bit of a letdown after such a great starter.
