Weser view

This morning my neighbour friend Dee and I picked up the thread of early walking exercise. It was a cold end of October morning. But because of the European Wintertime the sun was now rising over the Brandenberg, spreading some extra light over the foggy rivervalley. For a change we climbed up the steep Solling footpath which brings you over the country border of Hessen into Lower Saksony.

Not a big deal for a walker who has no affair to settle with administrative authorities. We followed the Forestroad down into the Friedensthal Valley. The sun shining through the yellow and brown autumn leaves. The Peace Valley Brook welcomed us downhill. And we went along with the flowing, streaming and giggling of the fresh water. The the view on and over the mysty Weser brought a new kind of relief. Different, more wintery han the last time. I descended to the riverside, stood on the inundated borders stones, took in a deep breath and looked through my eyelashes: instead of a sketch I share my Riverview photo with you.

On our way back I told about the blitz-power effect the poetic words of Rahel Mann did still have on me. So we talked about Hiob. About the suffering every man has to endure and to contemplate as a unique individual incentive for learning about the true meaning of life: Pathei Mathos. Only you yourself have to deal with the small and big catastrophes and crises of your personal life. No one else can teach you how implement this personal calling to find authentic answers on the confrontations with negativity, destruction, illness, loss, death. Complaining is the most non-productive, non-creative way of dealing with pain and loss.

In fact it is an ineffective way of calling for outside help. A flight, a refusal of being responsible. Which cannot work as long as you yourself refuse to stand up, grab yourself together and against all odds make a first effort in helping yourself to heal and emancipate from your past, any past, whatsoever..So if there is hope, it is a personal act, not to expect or wish for an external saviour to help you out. Hope is a spiritual act of opening your Heart. Of stepping forward on your personal inner way. Of engaging your new self into the transforming process of spiritual growth and maturation. We all can start this engagement in a refreshing walking exercise in the morning.
