Tulip tree berry?

I don't know what to make of this; it's the first time in 30 years that I've noticed such a thing in our tulip tree. Maybe I'm growing more observant with all this blipping. Today marks another first; hummingbird in the bird bath! I've never seen one there, not bathing or drinking. There was much frolicking and splashing going on by other birds. Maybe he just thought it looked like fun and decided to give it a try.
The rain stayed away, spent some time readying the garden for the winter, pulling up plants, weeding.
