Here's Looking At You

One of my favorite times of the year is once again upon us, Dia de los Muertos. This unique holiday takes place the first and second of November, but the days leading up to it transform the streets surrounding the mercado. What just the other day was a street full of cars and buses is turned into a pedestrian mall full of blue tarps and special products. Sugar skulls draw my attention every year. Today was no exception and I took advantage of the smaller crowds (most of the vendors were just setting up their stalls) to get a shot of these more richly decorated (when compared to last year's versions) symbols of this holiday. Can't wait to get back there tomorrow, sit and absorb this special time of the year.
