Islands in the stream (more like a very big river)

Today I explored a beautiful little island in the middle of the Mekong, just opposite Kratie town where I am staying. We hired bikes for $1 and got what we paid for- one semi-functioning brake, a basket that was nearly falling off but two working wheels and bell. The bell was most useful for navigating children and cattle. This pasture was under water a few months ago as it lies slightly lower than the rest if the island. Along our path were remnants of the temporary relocation the rains caused-lines of make shift shelters to house the sleepy cattle which graze this little island.
