Nowhere man

Another in an infrequent series of Beatles song titles, inspired today by going to see the recent film of John Lennon's early life, "Nowhere Boy". If you haven't already, do go and see it as it's excellent. I watched it in Woolton Picture House, an old Art Deco independent cinema often frequented by the man himself, and a scene where he was watching an Elvis film was actually shot there; quite bizarre to sit in a cinema watching a film showing the same auditorium and a different film on the screen.... Afterwards went a few hundred yards up the hill to St Peter's church to try to find John's uncle George's grave (he died at the start of the film). I took a pic of the headstone but it wasn't a very old and impressive one, unlike that of Eleanor Rigby blipped earlier. Instead I decided to blip the lichen on the churchyard wall. John's aunt Mimi wasn't buried there unfortunately; I discovered from the film that he rang her when the Beatles first arrived in Hamburg, and he continued to ring her every week until his death.

He's a real nowhere man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.

Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he's going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere Man please listen,
You don't know what you're missing,
Nowhere Man,the world is at your command!

(lead guitar)

He's as blind as he can be,
Just sees what he wants to see,
Nowhere Man can you see me at all?

Nowhere Man, don't worry,
Take your time, don't hurry,
Leave it all till somebody else
lends you a hand!

Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he's going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me?

Nowhere Man please listen,
you don't know what you're missing
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command!

He's a real Nowhere Man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody.
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody!
