Heron

I took a blip walk with the dog this morning. We walked up the creek, which is not the usual direction, but sometimes it is nice to shake things up a bit.

I had only my zoom lens in hopes of sighting a bird.... And I was lucky. We surprised this heron (I think it is a great blue heron... They are common in this area) and he took refuge in the trees along the creek. I wasn't fast enough for the action shots, but I caught this nice pose. I have a couple other good ones, but this is the nicest I think.
