Pretty Flamingo

We spent the whole day at Slimbridge. Because of their conservation work they have a lot of birds reared in captivity as well as visiting migratory flocks, and many native species which inhabit the local wetlands.
They have six species of flamingoes. One James flamingo has been there since the time of Sir Peter Scott who founded the place in 1946. This individual is 60 years old . These are Greater Flamingoes.
We were slightly surprised that there were so many captive birds there. They can't fly away as they have had their flight feathers removed.
