Remember.....

We had a day trip to London which had been planned for weeks. And it started with a pleasant surprise -meeting my nephew on the railway platform at Stoke-on-Trent waiting for the same train. He was off to one of his volunteer training days.

Our first stop once we got to London was to visit the poppies surrounding the Tower of London. There were many people there and it was hard to steal a few quiet moments to think about what they represented.

Our next stop was to Brick Lane for a sculpture exhibition - Art of the Brick - lego sculptures!!

After some lunch along Brick Lane we then headed over to Tate Britain to see the Late Turner exhibition.

Instead of going straight to Euston for home, we took a walk along the river past the Houses of Parliament and up through St James's Park and Green Park. This was because my other half use to walk through these parks when he worked in London, well before we'd even met. A trip down memory lane for him.
