Drowned World

Soozy and I headed to one of my special places.
There is a arch in rock face which you pass through to find a "secret" lochan.
I've always like looking at maps and I spotted this small body of water on one of my dads OS maps and went in search of it when I was no more than 10 or 12.
I felt like I had found the source of the Nile!
Because it's quite isolated there is generally lots of wildlife to see and today was no different. We saw a kingfisher (a first for me), a deer, lots of pheasants and a buzzard.

The only down side is all the surrounding vegetation falls into the water and rots, so it can get a bit whiffy at this time of year.
