Bonfire toffee

The problem with toffee is that it's either too sticky to get out of the tin or too hard to chew. This one turned out to be the former so will need a second go tomorrow. But it's just the way the world works. I bought a sugar thermometer this year but the recipe is so old it doesn't have temperatures! I remember both mum and granny having the same problem. However frustrating it is, I'm hoping M will too!
