Believe it or not this stained glass window is in the supemarket that I frequent.

It was built in the grounds of the Anchor mills in Paisley on the banks of the White Cart water. It takes up the space which once was the Pacific Mill.
The thread mills were owned by the Coates family and provided work for a great proportion of the town of Paisley when it was at its height in the 20th century.

In honour of this, a stained glass window was put in the entrance of the supermarket displaying - what else- but an anchor, which was one of the advertising symbols for Coates' threads .!

Here endeth the history lesson.
