Cobwebs & saints

Beautiful iron gates of an apartment building on NW 19th across from Trinity. (There's a closeup view in color here.)
Still decorated for Halloween. Or maybe they know it's the Feast of All Souls, el día de los muertos.
To add to the potpourri of occasions, Trinity celebrated All Saints today, which was actually yesterday.

These holy days got me to thinking about the amazing mural of the Dancing Saints at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Do take a look here and here and here.

I bet you have your own favorite saints, who may not be canonized but in your mind deserve to be. You may find them in the mural, saints in heaven and saints on earth—saints like Martin Luther King Jr. and Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Eleanor Roosevelt and Thomas Merton and William Blake and William Shakespeare and Anne Frank.
